Costa Rica to invest $16 million in Operating Rooms

The Costa Rican Social Security Department has approved funds for the construction of 14 new operating rooms at Hospital Mexico in San José.

Authorities told that "... 25 months have been estimated for the implementation of the entire project, a time frame which includes a planning, design and procurement stage (11 months) and an implementation phase of approximately 14 months "

The manager of infrastructure and technologies, Gabriela Murillo Jenkins said that "... the board of directors has approved a comprehensive project which includes the construction of 14 new operating rooms which will be located on the third floor of the medical center, including the respective work recovery rooms and the necessary equipment. "

Awards: $41 million Hospital Works

The Social Security Department of Panama has awarded to Constructora Nova SA a contract to design, build and equip the new hospital in Almirante, in the province of Bocas del Toro.

The contract awarded to Constructora Nova SA is for "technical studies, hospital architectural designs, development and approval of plans, environmental impact study category 2, construction, furniture, medical equipment and personnel training for the new hospital."

Panama: $135 million for Hospital Equipment

August 2015

The Social Security Department has announced it has $135 million for the procurement of medical equipment and construction works to be tendered in the short term.

From a statement issued by the National Assembly of Panama:

In order to make improvements, contracts and purchase medical equipment for hospitals, clinics, ULAPS, and health centers across the country, the Budget Committee approved nine transfers of items for a total amount of 135.3 million to the Social Security Department (CSS).

El Salvador: Hospital Investments for $150 million

The government has announced investments in medical equipment for the 30 existing hospitals and the construction of two in La Union and San Miguel, plus an ophthalmology center.

The Minister of Health, Violeta Menjivar, announced major health projects to be run by the government this year, among which is the inauguration of the National Hospital of La Union, whose total investment will be $16 million.
