$15 Million Aquarium in Costa Rica

A 4.200 square meter aquarium will be built in the city of Puntarenas, in the country’s pacific coastline.

The project, developed by the Environment Ministry (Minaet), will be partly funded by the Spanish Cooperation Agency through the Central Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).

“Representatives from Artica, a consortium composed by two Spanish companies, presented the project to Ministry authorities on Thursday”, reported Univision.com.

Alvaro Planchuelo, one of the project’s architects, explained the aquarium could be ready by 2011.
