$1.500 million investment in residential projects

During the first half of 2018, 203 environmental impact studies were presented in Central American countries to develop condos, apartment buildings and other housing projects.

The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", included in the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, lists updated public and private construction projects that present environmental impact studies (EIA) to the respective institutions of each country.

Panama is the largest investor in the region, with approximately $608 million in projects for apartment buildings and horizontal residential, which correspond to 54 environmental impact studies submitted between January and December 2017.

This is followed by Costa Rica, where 89 EIAs were presented, which together result in an investment of approximately $368 million.

In El Salvador, 21 construction projects for residential towers and single-family home projects were reported. The projects total an estimated investment of $356 million.

In Guatemala, 28 studies were submitted for the construction of residential condominiums, which represent an approximate investment of $118 million.

In Nicaragua, it is planned to develop 6 projects in which $66 million will be invested, and in Honduras 5 housing complexes will be built with an estimated investment of $27 million.

Construction Projects Planned in Central America

August 2017

A mixed-use residential complex in Panama, an industrial complex in Costa Rica, and two apartment towers in Guatemala are some of the projects that are planned for development in the coming months in the region.
