$13 million Water Park Announced in Costa Rica

The entertainment center will be located in the province of Alajuela and construction will start in late 2014, with operations starting 12 months later.

Desarrollos Orinoco, a company in charge of the project to be developed in Turrúcares, Alajuela, has announced that the first phase will consist of "... a 35,000 m² development with two towers each having four waterslides, a 500 meter long lazy river, two beach football pitches, a kids area (1,000 m²), food court, additional services (nursing station, lockers, etc..) and a train station, among other things. "

The group in charge of Parque Acuático Vulcano (Vulcano Water Park), which has already received environmental permits and is awaiting the municipal permit "... is made up of other investors in Venezuela, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada and England," reported Elfinancierocr.com.

The project, developed by Sun Ranch calls for investments of $1 billion over 15 years and the use of 578 hectares.

The complex would be located about 9 kilometers from the city of Liberia, near the Daniel Oduber Airport.
