1.3 million Passengers Used Tocumen In January

The main airport in Panama saw an increase of 7% in the number of travelers passing through its facilities in January 2016 compared to the same month last year.

From a statement issued by Tocumen International Airport:

Panama, February 24, 2016. Tocumen International Airport closed January 2016 with the historical figure of 1,305,276 passengers, representing 85,615 additional users compared to the same month in 2015, reflecting a growth of 7%.

A report from the Department of Statistics on main airport in Panama, said that during January 2014, the Air Terminal, catered for 1,118,237 passengers, while in the first month of 2015 the figure was 1,219,661 million passengers, an increase of 9 %.

From January to May 2017, a total of 102,388 passengers from Europe came into the country through Tocumen International Airport, some 20,754 more than in the same period in 2016, a growth of 25.4%.

Insufficient Demand for Panama - Dubai Flight

Nicaragua: Increase in Air Passenger Traffic

In the first half of the year the number of air passengers who arrived in and left the country grew by 8%, with 343,000 coming in and 304,000 passengers going out.

Although Nicaragua is a country with little international air connectivity in the first 6 months of 2014 there were more passengers coming in from abroad than those leaving the country. The difference amounts to more than 10 thousand people.

Passenger Traffic Up 9.6% in Tocumen

In the first seven months of the year 4,881,985 passengers transited through the international terminal in Panama, almost 10% more than in the same period in 2013.

During the first seven months of 2014, Tocumen International Airport which was recently given an award by the World Travel Awards, recorded an overall rate of 4, 881.985 passengers, compared with 4,454.529 users who used the Panamanian terminal in the same period in 2013, representing an increase of 9.6%, stated a report provided by the Department of Statistics.
