Commercial Exchange
Central America's imports from Brazil and its exports to the South American country have totaled an annual average of $1.2 billion for the years 2013-2017.

During the first three months, trade between the region and Brazil generated $332 million, showing a 19% increase over the same period in 2017.

Main products marketed
From January to March of this year, the main purchases made by Central American countries were electrical equipment, vehicles and tractors, cereals and pharmaceutical products.

Regarding exports from Central America, the most important are the sale of aluminum and its manufactures, chemical industry products, rubber and its manufactures, and lead and its manufactures.


Exports by country
In 2017, Costa Rica was the region's largest exporter to Brazil, with sales of $42 million. It was followed by Guatemala with $19 million, Panama and Honduras with $6 million each, El Salvador with $4 million, and Nicaragua with $2 million.

Imports by country
Last year, Costa Rica was Brazil's largest importer of goods, reporting purchases of $305 million. It was followed by Panama with $290 million, Guatemala with $247 million, El Salvador with $168 million, Nicaragua with $143 million and Honduras with $130 million.
