The government Electric Transmission Company will sign a $12.5 million contract with IDB to increase electrical capacity in Colon and Bocas del Toro.

According to a release by the State Communications Secretary, the loan, authorized by the Cabinet, will increase electrical distribution capacity towards the province of Colon in the Caribbean and during the second stage will establish a new electrical circuit in Bocas del Toro (to the West).

Nicaragua: $33 Million Approved for Solar Power

The National Assembly has approved a loan of $33 million with the South Korean bank Eximbank, to install solar panels in 15 municipalities, and another $10 million for electrification works in the Caribbean.
