Panama architects' congress to feature big-name speakers

Panama's National Architects' Congress, to be held from June 11 to 14, will feature 11 foreign speakers on the theme of vanguard architecture.

The speakers are drawn from Colombia, the United States, Spain, France, and Brazil, among other countries, and will include Luis Longhi, the Peruvian who designed the European Parliament.
The "beehive" buildings of Spain's Juan Herrero will form part of an exhibition held in conjunction with the congress.

Investors plan US$1.5 billion 'city on sea' in Panama

International investors plan to build a US$1.5 billion "city on the sea" in the Panamanian province of Veracruz.

The project, to be known as Panamarina Pacific, includes 231 buildings and 2,000 moorings. The buildings will be erected on a platform over the sea.
The consortium proposing the project includes includes investors from France, Spain and Argentina and is headed by the Argentine magnate Calos LLamas.

Panamanian trade delegation to visit Venezuela

A trade delegation from Panama will visit the city of Valencia, Venezuela, 150 km west of Caracas, on Wednesday. Its members will offer the region's productive sector a broad view of the business opportunities in their country arising from the Panama Canal expansion.

The visit is being treated as a trade mission, though it includes investment specialists from Panama.
