$11 Million in Electrical Works Projected

A substation with a transformation capacity of 69 Kv to 13.8 Kv and 69 Kv power lines is planned to be built in Nueva Santa Rosa, Guatemala.

Transportista Eléctrica Centroamericana, S.A. presented to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) to develop the project called, "New Santa Rosa Substation of 14 MVA of Transformation Capacity from 69 Kv to 13.8 Kv and its 69 Kv power lines."

The document explains that the project is made up of four components, taking into account their technical and execution characteristics in the construction and operation phases:

1. New: Santa Rosa 69/13.8 kV, 10/14 MVA substation
2. Expansion: San Rafael Las Flores 69/13.8 kV Substation
3. New: Barberena - Santa Rosa 69 kV transmission line
4. New: Santa Rosa - San Rafael Las Flores 69 kV transmission line.

The 69 kV to 13.8 kV and 10 MVA to 14 MVA transformer substation will be located in El Lodazal hamlet, La Cangrejera village, municipality of Nueva Santa Rosa, department of Santa Rosa, on 3,255 m2 of land.

The Environmental Impact Study has been presented for the construction of a 40 MW hydro station called "Central Project Rocjá Pontila" in the department of Alta Verapaz.

The company Proyecto de Desarrollo Integral Pontila S.A presented the environmental impact study to build a hydroelectric project in the Community of Rocjá Pontila, Municipality of Coban, Alta Verapaz.
