$10 Million for Construction of Industrial Complex

Guatemala plans to build a hydrocarbon processing plant with a storage capacity of 103,000 gallons of crude oil, diesel, bunker, reprocessing, mineral solvent, and naphtha.

"In Escuintla, within the industrial complex, it is intended to build a petroleum transformation plant, in order to obtain different derivatives: Naphtha, kerosene, light and heavy gas oils and residues, these are called petroleum by-products.

The purpose of the plant is to refine hydrocarbons, obtaining products such as solvents and secondary products: industrial diesel and fuel oil for use in the plant or for sale.

The total capacity of the plant to store 103 thousand gallons, equivalent to 2,451 barrels, distributed in several tanks.

The oil company plans to invest between $40 and $50 million in increased storage capacity for liquefied petroleum gas, and improvements in the production and delivery of products.

This was stated by the company's general manager, Aristides Chiriatti, who also reported that preparations will start on September 1 for the distribution of ethanol, which represents about $10 million.
