$100 million Investment in New Hospital

The consortium made up of the Italian company Astaldi and the Spanish company Edutrade is preparing to start construction and equipping of a new hospital in Chinandega, Nicaragua, in the next few days.

The estimated time for the construction of the new hospital is two and a half years. The hospital center will have 300 beds, operating rooms, clinics, intensive care area, cardiology, pediatrics and internal medicine, among other things.

Rosario Murillo, vice president of Nicaragua, explained to Elnuevodiario.com.ni that " ... the consortium in charge of the construction of the hospital, ´today (February 14, 2018) complied with the delivery of requirements to start the work'."

Regarding financing for the work, it will be carried out in the following manner " ... 51.9 million dollars from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), 30 million dollars from the Government of Kuwait and 17.9 million dollars from the Government of Nicaragua."

Honduras: Tender for Hospital Project Resumed

An announcement has been made of the reactivation of the tender to build the Southern Regional Hospital, a work for which a $33 million loan was signed in 2012 with the government of South Korea.

The tender includes the construction of a new building and medical equipment, and is expected to start this month with earthworks which were tendered two months ago.

El Salvador: Hospital Investments for $150 million

January 2015

The government has announced investments in medical equipment for the 30 existing hospitals and the construction of two in La Union and San Miguel, plus an ophthalmology center.

From a statement issued by the Government of El Salvador:

The Minister of Health, Violeta Menjivar, announced major health projects to be run by the government this year, among which is the inauguration of the National Hospital of La Union, whose total investment will be $16 million.
