$100 Million Road Investment Announced

The expansion of the Highway to the Port of Vacamonte and the construction of the connection of the Cinta Costera 3 to Amador, are two projects that are expected to be tendered in Panama during August 2020.

In order to revive the construction industry, the Minister of Public Works, Rafael Sabonge, reported that next month will be tendered two infrastructure projects whose investment is around $100 million.

The statement from the Ministry of Public Works says that "... Sabonge refers to projects that will be tendered in August of this year such as the Highway to the Port of Vacamonte, which will consist of a four-lane road with an estimated investment of $50 million. The project will include bike paths and sidewalks, as well as overpasses. It is a road that will connect the Vista Alegre and El Tecal area with what will be the Costanera Highway."

The document adds that "... another of the projects that may be tendered is the connection of the Cinta Costera 3 to Amador, through a marine viaduct, a project whose investment is also around $50 million."

The authorities informed that both projects will be done under the turnkey modality, that is to say that the contractors build and then deliver the work can be paid.

The Ministry of Public Works in Panama is putting out to tender the study, design and renovation of a road section in the province of Panamá Oeste.

"The objective of the purchase is Studies and Designs for a road going from the Highway to the Port of Vacamonte up to the community of Veracruz and its construction and renovation.
