An Environmental Impact Study has been submitted for construction in Perez Zeledon of a tourism development comprising of a hotel with ten villas and 50 rooms, plus a residential area.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study was submitted by Haciendas de El General S.A. in July 2016 to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat.The document states that the project includes "construction of a development for residential tourist use, which will include in general the following activities: Hotel Villas and Guestrooms, Hotel Arrival and F & B, Wellness Center, Education and Meeting Room, Heart of the house, Employee accommodation, organic farm, Villas Rise and development for sale: Community residences, brand residences.
With an investment of $6.5 million, the City of San Miguel will host the second largest convention center in the country. It will have a capacity of 1500 people.
