The Board of Economic Integration Ministers of Central America met today in San Salvador to analyze reforms that would improve regional trade.
Yolanda Mayora, the Salvadorean Minister, told the news media that during the meeting they analyzed reforms to the Uniform Customs Code of Central America and its rules. They considered technological improvements to transmit commercial transactions and customs payments electronically.
As energy demands in the region are expected to climb by 6% in the next six years, new investment opportunities are expected to open up.

San Jose, October 31, 2016.- Today the seventh round of negotiations of the Free Trade Agreement between Central America and Korea came to a close in Seoul, South Korea. This meeting, which took place from October 24 to 31, enabled the parties to move towards a final agreement.
They will ask the Central American Court of Justice to annul CAUCA, which recently came into force on August 25.
Oscar Ramos Valverde, president of the Confederation of Customs Agents of Central America and the Caribbean, informed Prensa Libre that they are to present the case to the Court (which is based in Nicaragua) today, and will asked that resolutions 223-2008 and 224-2008 of the Ministerial Council for Economic Integration (Comierco), which contain the new Uniform Customs Code for Central America (CAUCA IV) and its regulations (Recauca)be annulled.
