The governments of Belgium and Panama are planning to sign an agreement on promotion and reciprocal investment protection.
Additionally, during the Belgian Prince's visit to Panama, the signing of an agreement between the Technum-Tractebel Company and the Panamanian Canal Authority (ACP) to provide advice on the expansion of the canal has been programmed.
Negotiations have started to implement an agreement on information exchange and tax cooperation.
From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Guatemala:
The Government of the Republic of Panama and the Kingdom of Belgium have agreed to begin negotiations on an instrument to facilitate the exchange of tax information between the two countries as part of the country's commitment to expand cooperation in tax matters which already includes negotiations with countries such as Germany, Japan and Singapore, among others.
The Chamber of Commerce will offer trade support services in Europe, via an office that it will open in November in the Belgian city of Brussels.
The new office will offer several services to facilitate access for Costa Rican products to the European market, the business group reported in a release.
The Chamber of Commerce of Costa Rica expects to work on consolidating business agendas, offer commercial representation or intermediation services and to facilitate the search for business partners to complement the local offer.
The third International Fair on Renewable Energy, Expoenergia 2009, will be held in San Pedro Sula through February 28th.
