The proposal submitted by the company amounts to Q75 million and the Qualifying Board, composed of representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Guatemalan Social Security Institute will have two weeks to decide whether to award the contract.

In response to the demand for electricity by Guatemalans, the ENERGUATE and distributors EEGSA received technical and financial bids from generators participating in the Short Term Tender 1-2015 which will provide 210 MW for the period of one calendar year, starting on May 1, 2015.
An extension has been given, until April 20, to the deadline to prequalify for construction in a PPP model, for the Administrative Center of the State of Guatemala, a project which is estimated at $200 million.
The companies requesting an extension in the delivery of proposals for the first construction tender using the public-private partnership model are the Israeli Solel Boneh International Holdings AG and the Mexican Civil Engineers Asociados, SA de CV (ICA).
Due to delays in some of the projects where contracts had been signed to supply power starting from May 2015, Energuate will be receiving bids in March in order to replace part of that supply.
Bids will be received in late March and in the adjudication of these 180 MW of power the lowest price offerings will be favored. Among the projects which have been delayed are Energía del Caribe (120MW) and the hydroelectric stations Tres Ríos (5MW) and San Luis (6.56 MW).
