The Municipality has undertaken an Urban Development and Spatial Planning strategy for the archipelago, one of the top touristic attractions in Panama.
Rubén Rodriguez, assistant to the Bocas del Toro Mayor Eligio Binns, stated that the Municipality needs a tool to organize urban development in the city.
This process started in 2005, when the arrival of big residential and touristic developments spurred concern among the community because of the high environmental impact they generated.
