$19 million is needed for the expansion of the cargo terminal at the Monseñor Romero Airport in El Salvador, and companies interested in participating in the public-private partnership are being sought.
Authorities at the Ministry of Public Works and Fomilienio II, informed that one of the projects that will be developed under the PPP modality is the "...Improvement of infrastructure, processes and equipment at the current AIESMOARG Cargo Terminal, to increasethe volume of import and export cargo byapproximately40%, which will allow a greater flow of goods and services. The project contemplates the possibility of expansion and construction of a Cargo Terminal."
A tender is being launched for a feasibility study to expand a 22-kilometer section of the El Litoral highway between the Zacatecoluca and Tecoluca municipalities to four lanes.
The Ministry of Public Works plans to extend the stretch from Zacatecoluca, La Paz, to San Marcos Lempa, San Vicente, to two lanes in each direction.

The construction of an overpass near Rancho Navarra, in San Salvador, is estimated at $25 million and could be tendered in the first half of this year.
The project is for an aerial roundabout that would connect La Cima to Vista Hermosa, in addition to providing a pedestrian crossing. Construction could start in the second half of this year, according to the Ministry of Public Works.
In El Salvador a tender is being prepared for the construction of a complex of 226 homes in the town of San Pedro Masahuat, department of La Paz.

In the specifications it states that the project, to be financed under the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), involves the construction of 151 permanent houses and 75 plots with housing foundations, all of them with deep foundations.
Projects to be implemented by the Ministry of Public Works include the construction of protection works, dredging of rivers and streams and road maintenance nationwide.
The government plans to carry out these works in San Salvador, Santa Ana, La Paz, Chalatenango and San Miguel. In addition to road works, cleaning works will also take place in the artificial lagoons at the Chaparrastique volcano in San Miguel.
The Ministry of Public Works has announced that work on the specifications of the tender for the construction of two bridges in Anguiatú and La Hachadura, both border crossings with Guatemala.
The authorities plan for the tenders to be held in the course of this year, to start with the construction of bridges in 2016. This project aims to replace the existing crossings which connect with Guatemala in the western area.

The government of El Salvador has received the backing of the InterAmerican Development Bank for a second tender to finish building a terminal for an urban transport system in Soyapango.

The Ministry of Public Works is waiting for the final approval of a $122 million loan with Japan in order to begin a tender process for the design and construction of a bypass in San Miguel.

A tender is being launched for the construction of three underpasses in high cargo traffic areas in the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador.
The projects already have the respective designs and refer to the Naciones Unidas and Masferrer roundabouts in the south and north ends of Jerusalem Avenue and at the intersection of highway and street Huizúcar Comalapa. The investment for the construction of three underpasses is around $25 million.
