Bids submitted for providing 250 MW of renewable energy will be opened on December 15th.
ENEE, the National Energy Company, estimates that between 50 and 60 companies will bid for the project.
"ENEE has split the tender in two segments, to allow the participation of small, medium and large companies. 'Companies capable of generating between 0 and 15 MW will participate in the 150MW segment, while those capable of between 15 and 50MW will bid in the 100 MW stretch'", explained Jacobo D'Costa, ENEE manager, to newspaper Elheraldo.hn.
Over 40 companies are expected to participate and supply over 250 MW through renewable sources.
The process states that any proposed price must be fixed for 30 years, after adjusting it to inflation and the Lempira exchange rate.
