The Hopsa company has signed an alliance with Schuff, the giant steel producer looking to expand in the region.
In order to take advantage of growth in the demand for steel in Latin America, resulting from the economic boom being experienced by the region, the largest steel producer in the United States will enter the market in partnership with Panama's Empresas Hopsa, S.A.
After investing $10 million, the company inaugurated one plant for steel structures and one for dry premixed mortar.
Both facilities are located in Nuevo San Juan, in the province of Colón. They are capable of outputting 600 metrics tons of steel each month and 20 metric tons of mortar per hour.
From Laestrella.com.pa: "The mortar plant is 100% equipped with European technology, and will use limestone instead of sea sand as raw material".
