The Salvadorans have discovered the pleasure of good wine, converting the country in a very attractive market for the world's great wine houses.
"The potential is enormous," said Hugo Salvestrini, an ethnologist from Undarraga, a warehouses that has existed for more than 150 years and which is among the Top 10 Chilean vineyards.
Gabriel Edwards, who is in charge of the commercialization of Undarraga's product in Central America, said that exports from all the Chilean vineyards to El Salvador have recorded growth in sales at around 57%, while in terms of volume the increase is around 40%. "A huge part of this performance is because products with value added have been introduced to the market," he said.
