With an investment of $1.5 million, Fuerte Amador Flamenco Marina will go from 160 to 260 dock posts in 2010.
The Marina is currently at 100% capacity because 120 of the 160 floating dock posts are permanently for the local clientele and the remaining 40 are for yachts in transit.
The Pa-digital.com.pa website published: "The Flamenco Island marina, on the Pacific entrance of the Canal and on the Bay of Panama, has docks where 40 to 120-foot vessels can be accommodated, and 6 for mega yachts that can reach 200 feet. ‘These giants of the yachting market need more depth, up to 10 feet at low tide,' said [Carlos] Tuñon [marina general manager]."
