The Ministry of Health will invest $20 million in the creation of an electronic platform for digital medical records.
This system has already been implemented by the Social Security Department (CSS) through the Health Information System.
Javier Díaz, Minister of Health, told Prensa.com "This investment seeks to meet the objectives of the Health Plan for Central America and the Dominican Republic 2010-2015, through which regional policies are defined to improve the health of the population. "
The Costa Rican Social Security Department may have spent that amount on the Single Digital Health Record System.
