Two of the consortiums participating in the process have requested the disqualification of Consorcio Aero Tocumen for not complying with the tender's requisites.
According to an article from Prensa.com: "The consortium that presented the second lowest priced bid ($79.5 million), integrated by the Spanish firm Constructora San José, Constructora Panameña de Aeropuertos and Inmobiliaria Suramericana en Desarrollos Urbanísticos, requested the disqualification of the Colombian consortium AeroTocumen, responsible for the lowest priced bid ($68.6 million).
The consortium of Constructora MECO, SBI International, Santa Fe-CODOCSA, Astaldi, Consorcio Vial Fomilenio y Corporación M&S presented the proposals for the North Longitudinal construction project.
Elsalvador.com reports: “The proposals included a range of $29 million to $40 million for asphalt concrete; meanwhile, in the case of hydraulic concrete, the proposals were from more than $35 million to a little more than $44 million, as was recorded in the meeting minutes signed by the representatives of Fomilenio and participating construction companies.
The proposal by the Colombian company Aerotocumen was almost $11 million lower than the second best offer.
The contract includes the construction of the Muelle North (North Dock) terminal, the remodeling of the current terminal and the construction of a new administrative building for Tocumen, S.A.
The Aerotocumen consortium, which is made up of the Conconreto company and the Odinsa Group, made the best offer at $68.65 million.
