The City Express chain has announced the construction of its first establishment outside Mexico, with an investment of $7 million.
Mexico City Express operates 54 hotels in the value and business travelers segment, with three financing schemes, equity, joint ventures and franchises.
The new hotel will be sited in Costa Rica in Heredia, under sustainability standards for "green" buildings.
With a $ 20 million investment, the Hospiteum Corporation will operate two City Express brand hotels.
Scheduled to open in late 2011, the first one will be located in Cariari, Heredia. The other unit still does not have a specific location but would begin operations in mid-2012.
