A strategic alliance between Escuintla and the Korean port of Incheon will be possible because of an investment of $16.5 million, announced the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Guatemala.
The President of the Guatemalan-Korean Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), Raul Salazar, announced the construction of the Michatoya Industrial Park in the municipality of Palin, Escuintla (about 60 km from Guatemala City), whose construction phase will end in July.
During the first six months of 2013 there was a total of 215,000 m2 in construction of logistics parks, where there are already more than 539,000 m2 and an available area of 106,000 m2.
An Industrial Market Report for the first half 2013 prepared by the firm CBRE Panama reflects an increase in the construction of logistics parks mainly in the East periphery with 115,803 m2 under construction and 218.182 m2 already constructed, areas which are near Tocumen Airport and which are very accessible to the main location of the projects.
Green Valley Business and Tecnology Park will be built on 230 hectares of land in Costa Rica, designed to accommodate high-tech companies.
It is expected that the technology park to be built in Argentina de Grecia, will attract high-tech companies in areas such as manufacturing, health sciences and services. "Green Valley Business and Tecnology Park" will be built on 230 hectares of land which is currently farmland or disused land, said Francisco Bogantes, coordinator of the project, promoted by the Municipality of the town.
Scheduled to open in 2012, the Technology Park will be located at the Pedro Arauz Palacios campus.
The project is to be developed in an area of over 24.000 square meters and will offer consulting, technical and legal assistance, specialized studies, technological support, process monitoring, training and business roundtables.
"According to the executive summary of the project, the Park will facilitate the flow of knowledge and technology among the scientific community, government and businesses, promote the creation of innovative companies through incubation and provide other value-added services, as well as space and facilities for companies," reports Elfinancierocr.com.
The Environmental Technology Park will be built in Pococí, Limón, with an estimated investment of $ 4 million.
Over a 14 hectare property, the park will include "storage facility, two bio-digesters and an open classroom for producers as well as research and training in waste management and recycling," reports Financierocr.com.
