A 25 kilometer section of road is part of infrastructure projects announced by the head of Public Works for the six districts in the province of Cocle.

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) will build 25 kilometers of road in each of the six districts of the province of Cocle (Aguadulce, Anton, La Pintada, Penonomé, Nata and Olá) as part of a program that seeks to provide an immediate response to remote and productive communities in the country.
The consortia Centralvías Bocas del Toro, Ininco, TRANSCARIBE Trading, and Asociación Accidental C&T Construye are the construction firms who submitted bids to design and build the Almirante highway.

The Public Works Ministry held a tender for best value entitled " Design and Construction of the Almirante – Changuinola highway, (former train route) and the roads: Valle Risco - Punta Peña de Risco, Valle Risco - Oriente Riscó - Nance Risco, with a length of approximately 35.6 kilometers, in the Bocas del Toro province.
Preparations are being made for a tender to be launched in April for the design and construction of production roads from El Pepino - Ciricito - Los Cedros del Lago - El Congo, in the province of Colon.

The roadworks in the village of Kankintú include bridges, coatings, culverts, earthworks, drainage, ditches and signaling.

Under the historic Cabinet Council held in the village of Kankintú, in Ngäbe Bugle, President Juan Carlos Varela announced the construction of the Cañazas-Kankintú Road (Section 1: Cañazas-Coclecito), a work comprising of approximately 36 kilometers.
The project valued at $97 million includes a competition for the design and construction plans, demolition, earthworks, main building, and restoration of other buildings.

San Jose, March 11, 2016. Construction of a new building for the Legislative Assembly will start in the second half of 2016.
In Costa Rica an order has been given to suspend construction of a supervision contract awarded to the state run power company for a road building project, because it is considered outside of its normal tasks.

The confluence of interests within the Costa Rican state bureaucratic corporation has allowed for institutional nepotism, by means of direct contracts between state agencies, to be thought of as beneficial to the interests of society. It is in this way that impediments are created to private companies being awarded public works contracts.
A bill has been presented to finance, build, operate and maintain transport infrastructure using trusts.

The companies CIT Construye, Transcaribe Trading and Central Vías submitted bids for asphalting, paving, reconstruction of curbs, and construction of storm drains, in the divisions of Metrovial and Área Canalera.

For an amount of B /. 12.9 million, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) held on February 25th a public act for an abbreviated best value tender for the 'Pave Your City' project (Working for your neighborhood), to address local needs in the divisions of Metrovial and Area Canalera.
Constructora Pirenaica won the contract to build Parque Municipal del Norte, in the community of San Vicente No. 1, between the villages of Chilibre and Ancon.
The Municipality of Panama awarded the contract for $16,940,542.50 for preliminary studies, completion and adoption of the draft, development and approval of construction plans, technical specifications and delivery and construction of Parque Municipal del Norte, Phase 1.
The Bank of Costa Rica has been selected to hold the trust which will be used to manage the project to expand the highway between the capital and the city of San Ramon, which will cost approximately $500 million.
The extension of this road is a long-standing project, and has faced a host of problems, including the cancellation of the initial concession of the work, which involved a payment of $35 million to the Brazilian construction firm OAS, which in turn had bought the contract from Autopistas del Valle.
A loan from the Inter-American Development Bank has been approved for the construction of two hospitals and improvements to the health system.

Members authorized with 63 votes, the signing of a loan agreement between the Government of the Republic of El Salvador and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in the amount of $170 million, and financing the implementation of the "Integrated Health Program II".
Consideration is being given to the possibility of using resources from the country's main pension fund to finance public infrastructure construction works.
The plan developed by Pensions Manager at the Costa Rican Social Security Department (CCSS) also proposes "... devoting a portion of the resources to securities abroad". The objective of the proposal being analyzed by the board of the CCSS is to diversify the investment portfolio for the Disability, Old Age and Death (IVM) scheme, which is concentrated in government debt securities.
The prospective candidate must have magician's skills, preferably qualifications as an engineer or lawyer, and a vocation to be a punching bag.

It's been two weeks since the resignation of the Minister in charge of Public Works and Transport in Costa Rica and President Solis has not yet announced who will fill the position. And there is no doubt that it will be very difficult to find not only the ideal candidate for the job, but also someone willing to accept such an impossible mission.
The lack of new public works projects is putting downward pressure on the growth of the construction sector in Costa Rica, which went from 4.5% in 2015 to only 0.7% being projected for the new year.
The governing body of congress has approved the design and a $97 million trust for the construction of new legislative offices, whose works will start in mid-2016.
After the Comptroller General of the Republic objected to part of the project design and construction of the new building for the legislature, the board has now approved the design and the method of financing the project, in line with the recommendations of the Comptroller.
