The Municipality of the Central District (CDMA), is inviting eligible bidders to submit sealed bids for the construction of a yard for parking and workshop for maintenance of buses in the BRT system in an area measuring 12,550 square meters located between the second and third entrance of the John F. Kennedy colony in Tegucigalpa.
The Mayor of Panama has announced two new concession projects for underground parking spaces in Panama City.
The institution announced that underground parking will be built at the site of the Street Vendors and Crafts Market on plaza 5 de Mayo, an initiative that already has the approval of the Municipal Council of Panama. Recently this local government approved an agreement to authorize it, signing a concession contract for the development of the parking lots.
Two companies submitted bids for the construction of underground parking lots under three parks in Panama.
"The companies Estacionamientos Unidos S.A., and Plaza Parking S.A., submitted proposals for the construction of underground parking lots at the parks Harry Strunz, Parque Porras and Francisco Arias Paredes under turnkey contracts, while for the parking lot under Park Urracá no bids were received", noted an article in Capital.com.pa.

The open call is for the study, design, drawings, construction, equipment, maintenance, operation and financing of four underground parking areas located in the District of Panama for a period of 20 consecutive years in the format of a turnkey project.
Companies interested in the project have requested an extension of the deadline for submission of bids and separation of the tender into four contests, one for each parking are planned.

According to the specifications, companies must formalize their nominations on 3 December, in less than a month, a period which in their opinion is insufficient for preparing a proposal that takes into account the technical complexity of the work. "
A 20-year concession for the construction and management of 2000 underground parking spaces, is the gateway to a business that could be expanded to the entire city.
December 3rd is the date announced for the opening of bids for the award of the underground parking tender in Panama City.
The concession is for the construction and management of 2,000 parking spaces which will be located in four car parks in the capital: 780 spaces under park Urraca, in Avenida Balboa, 366 spaces under Park Harry Strunz, on Calle 50, and under park Porras Francisco Arias Paredes, both between Avenida Cuba and Avenida Peru, 362 and 446 parking spaces will be built, respectively.

The growing demand for parking has led to the emergence of dozens of new parking lots in San Jose over the last 3 years, with 296 patents having been processed in 2011 alone.
Yendry Rivera, of San Jose City's Mayor's Office, said that in 2009 the county processed 278 patents for parking lots, in 2010 the figure rose to 285, and last year to 296, reported Nacion.com.
