The government has announced that through an agreement with Taiwan funds will be obtained for expansion works on the CA-9 North highway.
The Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing informed Diario de Centroamerica that"...It is expected that in March a Taiwanese mission will visit the country to review the works that will be carried out ... and they have prepared the plans for the project and, from next week, circulation schedules will be more flexible, which will ease traffic loads."
Congress has approved an IDB loan for the construction of three centers that make up the Ciudad Mujer project in Tegucigalpa.
The loan was agreed in a pact signed in late December by the director of the initiative of Salvadoran origin 'Ciudad Mujer' (Woman City) in Honduras, Rosa Lourdes Paz, and the IDB representative in Honduras, Mirna Liévano.
A loan of up to $150 million approved by the Development Bank of Latin America will be used for the construction of a Higher Technical Institute in the East.
The $180.7 million contract to design and build the Higher Technical Institute in the East (ITSE) was awarded to Consorcio ITSE, comprised of Constructora MECO and Edificadora Centroamericana Rapiparedes in July this year.
With the IDB loan approved by the National Assembly infrastructure and equipment for health centers in rural areas will be improved.

The Plenum of the National Assembly approved on Tuesday September 6, a Loan Agreement signed with the Interamerican Development Bank IDB, to be used to finance the Community Health Program in 54 rural municipalities.
A $224 million loan from the Japanese government will be used to build the Borinquen I geothermal plant, which will start operating in 2023 with an installed capacity of 55 MW.
The agreement of understanding signed between the governments of Costa Rica and Japan includes the construction program, the investment scheme and procurement plan, among other technical, legal, environmental and financial aspects.
