The letter of credit issued by Citi to Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy is for the import of 25 turbines for the 50MW wind farm Orosi, to be built in Guanacaste.
The Spanish company Gamesa is the beneficiary of the letter of credit for the import and installation of 25 turbines in the wind farm being developed by Globeleq Mesoamerica Energy in the area of Quebrada Grande, near Liberia, Guanacaste.
Costa Rica's Congress has authorized the government to sign a loan with national or international sources for up to $55 million in order to modernize the Port of Moin.
From a press release issued by the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica:
The Legislative Assembly approved with the unanimous support of 42 MPs, in the second reading, a proposal authorizing the Executive to enter into a loan agreement with national or international sources for an amount of $55 million for the purpose of modernizing the infrastructure of the Port of Moin.
The program of projects will focus on environmental education, security and infrastructure.
The Costa Rican government has announced the implementation of a series of public works projects worth $6.5 billion of which 62% will be financed by loans.
The government hopes that the projects, once initiated, will improve the performance of the economy, which has tended to slow down since last year.
Its promoters claim that the decline in the pace of sales is not too much and that they have already sold 80% of the 1,010-unit project.
Its opening is planned for August 2010. To date, some 90 thousand square meters have been constructed, 35% of the 265 thousand in total.
Commercial director Rosella Violi informed Prensa.com: "The building has allocated 80% of its sales and the customers have been from United States, Venezuela, Colombia and Europe for the most part."
