From this year onwards, the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica will be the representative in the Central American country of the Trade Promotion Agency Avante Extremadura.
The Chamber of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica and Representatives of Foreign Houses (CRECEX), announced that from this year it will function as representative in Central America of the Trade Promotion Agency Avante Extremadura.
The new office will operate in Tel Aviv in a mixed format which will integrate the functions of trade promotion with the Embassy of Costa Rica in the country.

Tel Aviv - San Jose, September 26, 2016.With the aim of promoting an approach and laying the foundation for the commercial promotion of Costa Rica in the State of Israel, September 26 saw the conclusion of the visit by Minister and Chairman ofthe Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora Delgado, to the cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. During the three days of tours, the minister inaugurated the PROCOMER trade promotion office in Tel Aviv; officially launched the country brand essential COSTA RICA in Israel; and gave a masterful presentation - Doing Business with Costa Rica - followed by a discussion with a large group of Israeli entrepreneurs interested in expanding to Costa Rica.
It has been announced that by the end of the year a new office will be operating to promote the arrival of more foreign investment to the country.
The Minister of Economy, Ruben Morales, told S21.com.gt that they are "... 'working on the design of a new entity through a Government Decision, in which we will group different functions which used to be developed by Investment Summit, and which will coordinate with commercial attaches abroad in the activity of promoting foreign investment and trade as well as import and exports.'"
The Foreign Trade Promotion Office will close the trade promotion office which operated for three years in London and will move to Spain.
According to representatives of PROCOMER, the decision is due to several factors, including greater cultural affinity, prospects for economic recovery and a potential market of 40 million people.
The aim of the Guatemalan government is to increase investments made by Colombian companies in sectors such as energy, food, plastics and textile businesses.
"... The Colombian investment is one of the most important ..." for Guatemalans because not only do they have a presence in the mining sector, but also in other sectors which are important for economic development.
The government has announced the signing of an agreement to set up an office to promote trade and investment on the Asian island.
From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala:
"In order to have an active and permanent business presence in Hong Kong, the Minister of Economy, Sergio de la Torre, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chairman of the South-South Steering Committee for Sustainable Development SS-SCSD, Cai E'Sheng, through which the Guatemalan Office for Trade and Investment will be created in Hong Kong.
In order to promote Guatemalan products in the Spanish market, the PACIT inaugurated in Madrid its eighth office worldwide.
A report in Elperiodico.com.gt indicates that the Executive Director of the Program of Trade, Investment and Tourism in Guatemala (PACIT), Julio Orozco, said: "The opening of the office in the Spanish capital is due to an interest in representing Guatemala in Spain "as a real business opportunity and making a real impact by increasing our exports to this country and to Europe."
