After having stopped the process because of an action proposed by one of the participating consortiums, the authorities decided to lift the suspension of the tender for the design and construction of the branch that will connect the future ITSE with the international airport of Tocumen.
The tender was suspended at the beginning of November because of an action presented to the General Directorate of Public Contracting (Dgcp) by Consorcio Línea Aeropuerto, in which it requested the designation of a new commission to evaluate technical proposals, the partial annulment of the report of the evaluating commission and a new analysis of its technical proposal.
In the Dominican Republic, the construction of passenger stations for the interurban system in Gran Santo Domingo and the National District is being tendered.

Acciona Construccion and the Consortia Linea Aeropuerto and Linea 2 Ramal presented their proposals to design and build the branch that will connect the future Instituto Tecnico Superior del Este with the Tocumen international airport.
The contract contemplates the design engineering services, construction of civil works, auxiliary line installations and stations, and interfaces with the integrated railway systems for the start-up of the branch that connects Line 2 of the Metro with the ITSE and the AIT. The integrated railway systems will be contracted separately by MPSA, as they must be fully compatible with Line 2 systems.
The Municipality of Villa Nueva is calling on companies who are interested in the concession, for a period of 25 years, of the first Municipal Line of the Public Air Transport Service by Cable Car.

An announcement has been made that on September 15th the specifications for the tender of construction of the second line, which will have a length of 21 kilometers and 16 stations, will be published.

An announcement has been made that a new tender will be launched to complete the construction of a terminal for the Integrated Transit System in the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador.
After several delays in the schedule established in the contract with the company Control y Montajes Industriales de México (CYMIMEX), the government announced the cancellation of the contract and the search for a new company to complete the works on the terminal for the System for Integrated Transport in the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador (SITRAMSS) in Soyapango, east of the capital.
The Ministry of Public Works in El Salvador has announced a tender for the construction of the first section of the Metropolitan Transit System, for about $10 million.
Viceminister Nelson Garcia said that this stage will consist of 3.3 kilometers of streets with dedicated lanes for articulated buses.
The stretch will run from Soyapango terminal to Avenida Norte 33, and will have three stops.
On April 4th, a tender process will begin for the construction of a terminal for the Integrated Transport System for the Metropolitan Area of San Salvador (SITRAMSS).
The terminal will be located in the municipality of Soyapango, will cost $4 million and according to the plans, construction should begin 45 days after the award of the tender, said Vice Minister of Transport, Nelson Garcia.
Backed by $30 million from the BID, September will see the beginning of the bidding process for the urban transport system in the Honduran capital.
The Transmetro project consists of installing a dedicated line along which a two-car articulated bus will run.
The first stage of the project will include a 9 km tract from the National Stadium to the Colina Kennedy passing through the through Central American Boulevard.
Chilean Consortium Sonda SA won the tender to manage the new mass transit system.
The concession was granted to the firm for a period of ten years.
"Sonda is responsible for recharging the cards for access to Metro Bus as set out in the terms and conditions of the bid, once the card system becomes operational one thousand points of sale will be available, of which 10% will be run 24 hours a day," reported the article in Prensa.com.
Sonda, Confya, Panama Card and Metro Recaudo submitted bids to manage the Metro Bus transportation system.
The proposals ranged between $ 118 and $ 229 million.
