Work on the 15.8 km metro line 1 is 94% complete, and it is projected to be operational in February 2014.
The system will be 15.8 kilometers long, with twelve stations and its current cost is $1.8 billion.
Elsiglo.com reports: "... the Secretary of the Metro, Roberto Roy, confirmed an addendum to build a station in the area of El Ingenio, in Betania, and extending 2.1 kilometers of elevated section from Station Los Andes to San Isidro, San Miguelito, is with the Comptroller pending approval. "
The addendum to the contract with Consorcio Línea Uno for the extension of the railway system from Los Andes to San Isidro, has been officially signed.
This was announced by Minister for Canal Affairs and Executive Secretary of the Panama Metro, Roberto Roy. The official explained that the cost of the extension will not be revealed until they have completed the verification process with the General Comptroller of the Republic.
The Airport Administration has amended the requirements for the tender for the design and construction of the South Terminal, increasing the amount of reserves which businesses must have to $100 million.
The reserve amount was originally established at $60 million, and with the change it has increased by $40 million. This amount will not form part of the financial offer to be submitted by companies.
