"AWARD the company called UNIÓN EÓLICA PANAMEÑA, S.A. registered with the file 627486, Document 1398758 at the Public Registery, a permanent license for the construction, operation, maintenance, generation and sale of power for the project " PARQUE EÓLICO ROSA DE LOS VIENTOS" which has 51 2 MW wind turbines, located in the districts of El Coco, Cocle, Penonomé Canaveral and Penonomé cabecera, all in the Penonomé district and the province of Cocle, with an installed capacity of 102 MW."
The Executive Hydroelectric Committee of the Rio Lempa is planning to put out to tender a concession for a 42 MW wind farm and 14.2 MW solar energy plant.
Because of the lack new sites suitable for the installation of large hydroelectric dams in El Salvador, alternative sources are being considered so as to diversify the country's energy mix, said a spokesman for the Executive Hydroelectric Committee of Rio Lempa (CEL) Ramon Moreno.
The site in Santa Ana will be put out to tender and should be under construction in 2015; its installed capacity will be 42 MW.

Globeleq Generation Limited (Globeleq), an energy company, announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in the project Eolo de Nicaragua S.A. which aims to generate 44 MW.
Eolo is in the province of Rivas on the shore of Lake Nicaragua, about 125 kilometers south of the capital, Managua. The electricity will be produced using 22 wind turbines of 2.0MW each, and will be sold through two trade agreements for the purchase of energy within 20 years to the private companies Distribuidora Eléctricidad de Sur S.A. (DISSUR) y Distribuidora Eléctricidad de Norte S.A. (DISNORTE), both subsidiaries of Gas Natural from Spain.
Work has begun on a new park in the Isthmus of Rivas, a $160 million project which will generate 44 MW.
The project belongs to the company Eolo of Nicaragua, who have invested $160,536,670 according to records at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA).

President Porfirio Lobo Sosa, opened on Wednesday, the first wind farm in Honduras, located in Cerro de Hula, between the towns of Santa Ana, San Buenaventura and Ojojona in the department of Francisco Morazán.
The site chosen for the first Guatemalan wind power station is Escuintla, where 7 units will be installed with a total potential of 21 MW .
