Through a credit line from CABEI, the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewerage will finance the supply project for the Fifth Stage Metropolitan Aqueduct.
The megaproject, declared of public interest by the Government authorities, consists of the construction of 44.3 kilometers of pipelines, of which 8.6 kilometers are tunnels, a new water treatment plant and six storage tanks with a total capacity of 50,000 cubic meters.
The Ministry of the Presidency of Panama is tendering the rehabilitation, maintenance, operation and improvements to the oxidation ponds in several townships in the provinces of Los Santos, Herrera and Chiriqui.

As part of the non-reimbursable cooperation programs that China will implement in El Salvador, $85 million was announced for the construction of water treatment plants in Ilopango and La Libertad.
In Guatemala, the extension of the sewage system in the urban area of the municipality of Quetzaltenango is being tendered.

"The project includes the expansion of the sewage system and the remodeling of sanitary drainage in different streets and avenues in Zone 5 of the city of Quetzaltenango.
The contract includes preliminary works such as topographical planimetry and altimetry redesign for the correct execution of the project. Drawing to mark the location where the trenching for the pipe laying is planned, as well as to delimit the location of visiting wells.
In El Salvador, the construction of the wastewater treatment plant of the Penitentiary Center of Ciudad Barrios and the expansion of the sewage drainage system in the Penitentiary Center of La Union are tendered.
El Salvador Government Purchase LP-13/2019-MJSP-DGCP:
"The project for the construction of the sewage treatment system in the Ciudad Barrios Penitentiary Center has been designed to sanitarily complement the sewage discharges from said Penitentiary Center; since they are currently discharged into an existing treatment plant that does not comply with the demand of the staff inside the Penitentiary Center.
In the first semester of 2019, 23 environmental impact studies were presented for the construction of water purification plants, sewers, wastewater plants and other complementary works in the countries of the region, projects valued at $290 million.

The Ministry of Social Development of Guatemala tenders the supply of prefabricated wastewater treatment plants.

"The GRP qualities of the plants are made of polyester reinforced with fiberglass, the material must have a guarantee of complete water tightness. The flow rate of the design should be 100 cubic meters per day.
The CABEI granted a loan to be used to partially finance the execution of five sanitation projects and the construction of the new National Water Laboratory.
The construction of the new National Water Laboratory will allow for increased productivity, implementation, research and development of tests, analysis and studies with state-of-the-art technology and innovative, both in water for human consumption, as well as for sanitation and wastewater, reported CABEI.
The government of Costa Rica has formalized a loan with the CABEI, which will be used to finance the "Sewerage and Flood Control Program for Limón."
The Presidency of the country informed that on January 7th, 2019 the $55.08 million loan was granted by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to finance most of the Program, and in contrast, the Costarican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) and the National Groundwater Irrigation and Drainage Service (SENARA) will contribute $1.6 million. Therefore, a total of $56.7 million will be invested.
In El Salvador, the contract for the design and construction of the $4 million El Zonte wastewater treatment plant in Chiltiupán, La Libertad, was signed.

The government of Costa Rica has authorized the execution of resources for the road renovation of 270 km of roads and drainage systems starting in the first half of 2019.
The Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy (Mideplan) approved the execution of the second stage of the Cantonal Road Infrastructure Program (PRVC II), which should be implemented in five years through 110 projects that will improve 270.8 km of cantonal roads and drainage systems.
The Ministry of Housing in Panama is putting out to tender the study, design, construction, operation and maintenance of an oceanic disposal system for the City of Colón.

The Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers is putting out to tender the renovation, operation and maintenance of 25 wastewater treatment plants in the provinces of Panama and Panama West.
Panama Government Purchase 2018-2-66-0-99-LV-013710:
"A specialist company in hydraulics and sanitary process management will be hired for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and in order to be able to control the polluting effluents caused by the existing treatment plants, in the area that is out of use and / or operation and causing spills, and find the appropriate cost of treatment and a minimum socio-economic impact.
With a loan from the IDB, the improvement program for a potable water and sewerage connection system will be carried out in the municipalities of Managua.
The resources will be executed through the Nicaraguan Water and Sewerage Company (Enacal), specifically in the improvement and sustainable management of drinking water and sanitation services in urban and peripheral areas.
