In the first semester of 2018, official figures show an increase of 15% in sales abroad of fruits and 23% in those of legumes and vegetables.
Data from Banco de Guatemala indicates that "... Sales of fresh, dried or frozen fruit reached US $197.6 million from January to June, US $26.1 million more than in the same period in 2017.Pulses reported US $114.9 million, US $21.1 million more than last year."

In the first nine months of 2017, Honduran companies exported $45 million in fresh or chilled vegetables, 4% more than in the same period in 2016.

From January to September 2017, countries in the region exported $114 million worth of fresh and chilled vegetables, 10% more than in the same period in 2016.

In Costa Rica, consumption of fruit increased from 156 kilos per person per year in 2012 to 175 kilos in 2015, while in the same period consumption of vegetables fell from 117 kilos to 112 kilos.
The most recent trend study of the Comprehensive Agricultural Marketing Program (PIMA), states that the most consumed crops in the country are bananas, oranges, pineapple and watermelon, in the category of fruits, while in the group of vegetables and legumes the most salient are potato, tomato, cabbage and chayote.
In 2016 exports of fresh and chilled vegetables from countries in the region amounted to $143 million, and sales to the US grew by 9% compared to 2015.

Agricultural producers and food companies are being called on to participate in a business conference with Canadian companies, to be held on September 1 in Nicaragua.
The deadline to confirm participation in the business mission to Managua to meet with Canadian companies is July 10, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortes (CCIC) informed Laprensa.hn.
Bananas accounted for almost 70% of total agricultural exports in 2016, followed by vegetable exports, producing $90 million in revenue.

External sales of vegetables totaled US $ 89.7 million, up from the $16.4 million accumulated in 2015.This development is attributed to an increase in volume and price, 13.3% and 8.0%, in that order; with the most demanding countries being the USA, the UK and El Salvador.
In the first nine months of 2016 the export value of fresh or chilled vegetables from Central America grew by 12% compared to the same period in 2015, and 80% of it went to the United States.

Nicaraguan Rum, cigars, seafood, honey, vegetables, beans, timber, medicines and wood furniture will be allowed into Ecuador with preferential tariffs.

With 83 votes the National Assembly approved, on February 22, a Partial Agreement between Nicaragua and Ecuador that will allow the exchange of tariff preferences and the elimination of non-tariff restrictions on imports of a variety of more than 30 products from both countries.
