Anita Huang, Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of Taiwan in Nicaragua reported that "... approximately $2.5 million is expected to be sold during the 2014 Taiwan Expo which will bring together Chinese and Nicaraguan businessmen.

"This week the honourable Ambassador of China Taiwan in Nicaragua, Ingrid Hsing and me will be signing the draft, which sets out additional conditions to the memorandum of understanding signed between the Foreign Minister of Nicaragua and the Taiwanese Chancellor," said Marlos Torres, director of the Nicaraguan Institute of Sports (IND).
In Taiwan Nicaraguan businessmen closed deals on meat, coffee, seafood and other products, worth a total of $14.2 million.
According to the ambassador of Taiwan in Nicaragua, Y.W. Hsing, during the fair, which was held in June, Nicaraguan food products received more than 120 visits."Their products had a very satisfactory reception with our consumers," he said.
The supply of Nicaraguan products, particularly food, cannot keep up with demand from the Taiwanese market.
While exports have increased 172%, from $5.4 million in the first six months of 2009 to $14.7 million in the same period of 2010, Anita Huang, economic council to the Taiwanese Embassy in Nicaragua has indicated that the south east asian country's market can cope with more.
