Laprensa.hn reports: "The National Congress recently approved a trust agreement to build an airfield at Rio Amarillo, Santa Rita, Copán, about 18 kilometers from Las Ruinas, the Mayan resort town in the west. The contract was awarded for $6.5 million to Banco Continental, who will be the trustee that will hire the private operator to develop the project. The award was granted for 30 years. "

Builders in Honduras are demanding a guarantee of payment or a deposit before starting the works agreed in the contracts signed with Fondo Vial and Soptravii.
Alejandro Alvarez, president of the Honduran Chamber of the Construction Industry (Chico), said that "due to the bad experiences in 2012 (the builders) have signed some contracts but do not want to start work".

Honduras' government, through the Ministry of Finance (MOF), and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) have signed a loan agreement for the implementation of the "Road Villa de San Antonio-Goascorán, Section IA and IB", for U.S. $49.1 million.

Miguel Pastor, head of the Honduran public works authority, stated that between $300 and $400 million will go toward infrastructure projects, financed by loans from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), though these are yet to be confirmed.
The institution will invite bids for the construction of the central highway and the road known as "agricultural corridor".
The World Bank has authorized the Honduran Government to proceed with the tender to build the central highway, which will link the departments of Francisco Morazán with Yoro, explained Miguel Pastor, head of the Public Works Ministry.
