With a US$4.8 million grant from the Spanish government, Costa Rica is to build an arts and leisure center to be known as Parque de la Libertad in the poor southeastern suburbs of San José.
The project is to be built on a 37-hectare site at an overall cost of US$10.5 million.
"Parque de la Libertad will include artistic projects, such as a music school and a dance workshop, and it will also have facilities for recreation and sports like roller-blading and BMX," said Arts Minister María Elena Carballo.
