Tailor made tourist packages, modifications in hotels, and learning the Mandarin language, are just some of the aspects that companies must work on in order to receive tourists from China.
The bilateral tourism promotion agreement signed between the governments of China and Panama, after they reestablished diplomatic relations in June 2017, involves much more than a simple framework to promote the arrival of tourists, but also contemplates the requirements that Panama must meet in order to be categorized as a country authorized to be visited by the citizens of China.
The main business association has announced the trade fairs Expocomer, Expo Franchise, Expo Tourism, Expo Medical, Expo Furniture and Expo Logistics , to be held between March and October 2016.

Panama, March 02, 2016.- The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture Panama (CCIAP) has officially launched a set of six exhibitions that will take place between March and October this year, in order to encourage and stimulate various economic sectors and business in the country.
The First Congress of Tourism Integration will be held on the March 22nd and 23rd in Panama City, with the objective of establishing a road map for the sector.
With this conference the Tourism Authority of Panama is aiming to bring together the different players in the industry in order to establish the roadmap for the sector.
"... Twelve workshops will be held, each relating to a market segment.The idea is that each workshop presents the current situation in its segment, holds a debate and draws conclusions which can be translated into action, " said Alfredo Motta, event organizer to Laestrella.com.pa.
Air Panama has announced that starting July 1st it will be operating a daily frequency between Panama City and the international airport of Costa Rica.

The air route between San José and Panama City has become, because of the characteristics of the demand from travelers between the capitals of both countries, the so-called "air bridges", where availability of seats is permanent.
From 10 to 12 October, more than 40 international delegations will participate in an event which draws in some 300 journalists.
European and Latin American designers have already confirmed their participation in the event, which will be held in the Atlapa Convention Center.
This year Panama Fashion Week 2013, "joins with e-commerce by innovatively incorporating internet shopping for over 11 countries and promoting designers' creations through one of the most important fashion portals worldwide" , reported Capital.com.pa.
Central American governments have no interest in creating tourism packages that include destinations in different countries.
According to an article in Prensa.com, so said the tourism minister of Panama, Salomón Shamá, noting that "tourism ‘is the new cold war' between countries, and he stressed that it is not true that countries would share the foreign currency generated by international tourism. "
In 2013, the country will host the World Congress of Tourism Journalists and Writers.
It is hoped that as a result of the conference, more than 100 articles about what Panama has to offer as a tourist destination will be published in around 35 countries.
The arrival of more than 900 journalists at the convention will have a significant positive effect on tourism in the country, not only for the hotels, transport services and other services that will be required at the time, but also in terms of the promotion given to Panama as an international tourist destination.
