From October 31 KLM will fly twice a week between Amsterdam and San Jose throughout the European winter season.
From a statement issued by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute:
KLM the Royal Netherlands Aviation Company will fly twice a week (Tuesday and Friday) directly to San Jose, Costa Rica (Amsterdam-San Jose-Amsterdam).The operations will start from October 31, 2017, in the European winter season (November to March).
The German airline has announced it will be ready to start operating direct flights to Panama City starting January 2015.
Adding to the interest of other European airlines and responding to the increasing number of German tourists entering Panama, Lufthansa has notified the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP ) that it is able to start direct flights to Tocumen airport in January 2015 and is looking to finalize the respective agreement under process.
From November 5 the company will start flying daily to Panama from Amsterdam.
By adding an extra flight the company will now have a flight every day of the week. The decision to increase the weekly schedule from six to seven flights is due to the country's economic growth and an influx of tourists.
The airline announced that starting December 1 will expand the weekly number of flights between Amsterdam and Panama from 3 to 5.
This increase comes as a result of the Canal expansion project for which many European companies are sending delegates to the country and also due to the international promotion of panama as a tourist destination, according to Axel Metselaar, General Manager of the firm in Panama.
