The Costa Rican Social Security Department may have spent that amount on the Single Digital Health Record System.
An article in Revistaitnow.com reports that "The Social Security Department of Costa Rica (CCSS by its initials in Spanish) made the investment over a period of 5 years, through which it has implemented all the modules of its files in 30% of primary health care."
The Social Security Department has awarded the construction of a hospital tower for the Nicoya Hospital and the construction of a Health Area at Mora-Palmichal.
The cost for the construction of the hospital tower for Hospital de La Anexión in Nicoya, which is expected to begin in late 2013 or early 2014, is $38 million, while construction and equipment of the site of the Health Area at Mora-Palmichal will have an investment of $12 million.
