Authorities will review the $300 fee imposed on the airline industry operating in Honduras, it was decided recently.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Works, Transport and Housing (Soptravi) are to review the landing fee of $300, recently established for charter flights. The move has caused dissatisfaction among private companies.
The increase to $300 for landing fees approved by the Civil Aviation Directorate has led to the withdrawal of companies offering charter flights.
Epaminondas Marinakys, a businessman who operates charter flights, lamented the government's adoption of the policy, "while other countries are lowering tariffs in order to for more tourists to come in, in Honduras it is not the same case, instead they are increasing costs", he said
