The Ministry of Agriculture will be starting the process of making maps with morphological description of soils, registration and documentation, and their geographical location.
From a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture:
The National Institute for Innovation and Transfer of Agricultural Technology (INTA), will in March, start teaching and training 20 new employees at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), who will be in charge of mapping the soils on 25,000 square kilometers of territory in cantons bordering the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, at a scale of 1: 50,000.Subsequently the mapping is expected to be continued throughout the national territory.
Facilities have been enabled to approve cadastral plans digitally without requiring the physical presence of surveyors and property owners at the offices of the National Registry.
The new initiative known as Approval of Topographic Plans (ATP) has made the process of approving cadastral plans in Costa Rica digital, as from now on the physical presence of surveyors and property owners on the premises of association of Engineers and Architects (CFIA) or the Land Registry will no longer be required reported that union.
A resolution has been found to the dispute with the subsidiary of the Italian company Finmeccanica, which will withdraw from the country the radar and coastal surveillance equipment which was the object of the contract, and the Panamanian State will receive a credit for $32 million.

The Supreme Court has ordered the provisional suspension of a disputed contract with a subsidiary of Finmeccanica to install a digital mapping system.
The Supreme Court justified the provisional suspension as being "... in order to avoid the effects of the contract causing 'serious and impossible to repair damage to the community as it may affect the heritage of the Panamanian nation because of the delay in the decision on its merits that could be made by this court. '"
The National Electrification Institute of Guatemala (INDE) is receiving bids for the recruitment of "Geological, geotechnical, seismic and geophysical feasibility studies for the Xalalá Hydroelectric Project.

The requirement is for shooting high resolution digital aerial photos (RGB and infrared) the GSD should be 22 cm., production of digital orthophotos using photogrammetric processes, at a 1:5,000 scale for the departments of San Vicente and Usulutan.
