Honduras, the second largest coffee producer in Central America after Guatemala, is predicting that production will rise to 4.6 million 60 kg sacks by the 2012/13 season.
The country is expecting harvests to increase by 6.4% in 2010/11 to 3.83 million sacks with new or renewed plantations, Marcial Flores, manager of Honduran coffee institute, IHCAFE, told Reuters in an interview.
As part of the Agritrade Platform, Guatemala will participate for the 27th time in PMA Fresh Summit, the most important international trade show and convention of fruits and vegetables in the United States, which will take place at Anaheim Convention Center, California from October 17th to 19th.
