The government is preparing a bill in which workers and businesses would pay a
Finance Minister, Edgar Balsells, said they are analyzing a $ 25 bond (Q200) for workers who earn between $ 372 and $ 620 and those earning more than $ 620, the bond would be $ 62.

A 13-million-dollar loan for remodelling the La Aurora Airport in Guatemala was rejected by the deputy minister of Communications, who said he was looking for "a better offer."
Last February the
government approached the Central American Integration Bank to rent equipment to complete the renovation of the airport and for paying down its accumulated debts.
