$ 79 Million for Water Management in El Salvador
The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) will develop two water management projects in 2011.

During the presentation of objectives for 2011, MARN detailed the creation of a "Water Fund" of $ 79 million, through an agreement with the Spanish Agency for Development Cooperation (AECI) and the Technical Department of the Presidency of El Salvador .
A donation by Spain will finance the construction of water and sanitation infrastructure.
A drinking water distribution network measuring more than 125 kilometers will carry drinking water to the Miskito indigenous communities in the northern plain of Sising, Kuakuil, Boom Sirpi and Yulu Tingni.
The project provides strengthening for rural aqueducts, taking the service where there is currently no drinking water.
Within the framework of the project Water for All, the Guatemalan government will put out tender in August several drinking water and sanitation projects worth about $50 million.
