The resources will be channeled over the next four years through the "Purchase for Progress" program, which seeks to improve access to markets for Salvadoran, Nicaraguan and Guatemalan farmers.

Adn.es reports, “The small farmers play a key role in the fight against global hunger and poverty, both for their own families and the regions where they live," Buffett said during a forum in Des Moines (Iowa, USA). His speech was also summarized in a statement by the foundation."

“Additionally, the EU promised more resources for food safety, which would also be disbursed among small farmers”.
