Wind Expo Panama in September 2009

From September 2-4, the second Latin American Wind Energy Conference and Exposition will be held.

With the goal of "Integrating Wind Energy into the Latin American energy matrix," the Latin American Association of Wind Energy (LAWEA) is organizing Panama Wind Expo 2009.

The program consists of 3 days of exhibitions and conferences related to the subject of wind power and there is an important space reserved for business development.

Participants may interact with the players in a sector that promises to grow more each day and is looking to become a source of renewable energy for massive use from Mexico to Patagonia.

V International Symposium on Energy in Panama

August 2012

Organized by the Union of Industrialists of Panama (SIP) and the Secretary of Energy, the event will be held on 10th and 11th of October at the Hotel El Panama.

As has become traditional, this symposium will bring together more than one hundred professionals related to energy, industrial companies other economic activities, as well as representatives from public institutions.

Wind Expo 2009 is being held since yesterday and up to September 4th, gathering wind energy companies.

Topics will include regulation and the current state of wind energy in Latin America.

Energy Secretary Juan Manuel Urriola, who was present at the event, told Prensa.com that "...modifications to Law 6, which regulates the energy sector in Panama, include more incentives for wind power".

No end in sight for Nicaragua's growing energy crisis

Nicaragua's energy crisis is growing ever more severe because of the absence of investment in the electricity industry, said Lorena Lanza Espinoza, a senior Energy official.

Nicaragua, Central America's smallest power market, requires some 500 megawatts a day of electricity, but demand is growing by 5 percent a year and the country has no way of meeting it.
