Who is Interested in Tocumen Parking Lots

Thirteen consortia took part in the meeting for approval of the tender to build the first phase of the parking lots for terminal 2 of Panama City airport.

Taking part in the approval meeting were the companies: Constructora Urbana, Constructora Meco, Fabritec/Monelca, Ingeniería RM, Extraco Ingeniería, Eridani, S.A., Conansa, Asfaltos Panameños, S.A., Derivados del Petróleo, S.A. Ingeniería IPC, Lavisa y Transcaribe Trading (TCT) and Transeq-Estrella. 

The tender is in the best value format and is for the design and approval of plans, demolition of existing infrastructure, layout and topography of the construction area. The selection will be made by best value and the reference price is $9 million.  

Prensa.com adds that "...According to the schedule set by the airport administrators, the second phase of parking will accommodate 780 vehicles, while the third stage will be used for tourist taxis. Finally, a waiting area will be constructed to be known as 'Cellphone Parking'."

Four Bids for South Terminal at Tocumen

The technical proposals have finally been opened in the tender for the construction of a South Terminal at Tocumen International Airport, which will require an investment of $600 million.

The Brazilian company Norberto Odebrecht, Costa Rica's Meco, and Grupo Conalvías from Colombia, along with the China Harbour Engineering Company, were the four companies who submitted proposals for the required technical and financial proposals. A total of 33 companies were interested in bidding, participating in the approval process for the tender.

$150 Million Highway Contract Awarded in Panama

Transcaribe Trading S.A. will be responsible for widening the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway to six lanes.

The Panamanian company presented the lowest offer in the competitive bid with two other construction companies, Meco and Urbana.

"In addition to resurfacing and widening the highway, the company will add a layer of asfalt to make the surface smoother," reports Prensa.com.
